Meeting the Divine Feminine
When I was a young girl of fifteen, I used to
think a lot about what it meant to be a fine and noble woman. In my diary, I
wrote a list of attributes I wanted to develop in myself. As I grew and entered
womanhood, I tried to embody these qualities as best I could, only to be
challenged time and again by life's tests. Some of these qualities came easily
to me; others have taken hard work; still others will take a lifetime of
learning to attain. Now, as I write this message with my old diary before me, I
marvel that what I was attempting to describe at fifteen was the brilliant
diamond within every woman, that inner image of a positive and totally worthy
self. Diamonds are forever, and once really owned, so is this inner image of
our magnificent self. I have found that no matter how disappointed or
self-critical I get, I can open the treasure box of my mind and there find
the most precious gem I possess… the real me…The Goddess…a facet
of Divine Perfection.
Who is The Goddess?
Our goddess nature is really the feminine expression of the divinity that
is our essential self. The goddess energy is beautiful, powerful and
attractive. It may be awakened within a woman when she calls forth her highest
potential, opens to an active relationship with Spirit, in whatever form, and
unites her internal male and female energies. A woman who knows and owns this
energy, relishing it and expressing it through her genuine beauty and grace, is
a Goddess.
The Goddess within ourselves is naturally
powerful and can no longer be controlled, dishonored or made to feel less than
beautiful and whole. At the same time, the Goddess no longer needs to control
others to get what she needs and wants. Her enthusiasm for life and pleasure is
contagious. She naturally attracts love and support by projecting her light and
accepting opportunities presented to her.
She receives the adoration of men graciously and
without need, so that they feel safe to surrender to her.
She knows how to keep her own sovereignty and counsel without closing off to
men, refusing to either exploit or be exploited by them. Knowing there is
nothing to fear, she reacts with confidence, integrity and equality. With an
open heart and a positive attitude, she converses easily with men, offering her
wisdom, intuition and counsel when asked.
Goddesses create transformation in a
relationship. By their presence and wisdom, they help a man to realize his
potential and connect deeply with life. They are cooperative, creative and
respectful of others, co-existing peacefully in the world.
